Default Stereo Install Help

I've searched but not been able to find what I need...08 ram w/factory 4 speaker setup.

Where is the remote/acs wire?

Is it the white/orange? If so I can't get a positive reading out of either wire with the ignition in any position...Everything else is good to go on my install but no remote...help.

Thanks in advance!

like marx said, get the wiring harness, only other option is to run a separate power. with the adapter you will get all the connections you will need.

I tapped into the cigarette lighter wire...it's a switched power source. The wire is Pink with a Yellow Stripe

^^ dont do that... its the ghetto way. The wiring harnesses are usually pretty cheap. Sometimes they even come free from the online sites. post up a link of the two you're talking about. I'm leaning more towards the $10 because they usually dont cost much, but i couldnt say for sure until i saw a link

I'm thinking I'm going to get the wiring harness this afternoon, but I've heard that I need the can bus thing...do I HAVE to spend all that money or can I just go with the cheap harness?

it costs like 10 or 15 bucks from a store like wall mart any where that sells the brackets for an after market stereo. thats what i did makes it so much easier to hook up connect the color wires from the stereo to the wire kit. and then plug it in. and if you ever sell your truck just unplug it and then the factory plug is still there.

This is what I'm going with. I called a local stereo shop and that's what they do with the non-nav systems. They did say I would have to locate ignition wire via the cig plugs and tap into that. So I'm going clean/ghetto I guess.

Thanks for the help gents!

I think you really need the canbus thing for it to work using the factory wiring. Just to the ghetto thing.
