Fair enough. Got before and after dyno graphs or just clips with the gain in noise ? Sure headers and Y-pipe changes can yield additional Hp, but how much ?

Like I said, gains gain be made, but often times 5-20db's of extra noise for 5-8hp or so .

I was strictly talking Cat back systems. Motor back systems can gain more, sure, how much ? 20hp ? 25hp ? How much more noise ?

The only increase in noise I noticed after installing my AEM CAI was under WOT. There is zero noticeable extra noise when cruising.

Oh, there's no question you remove the "Hemi Hat" and you hear the EGR valve just a fluttering away ESPECIALLY with a metal tube, I think the metal tube acts like a magaphone. But I've gotten used to it and only really hear it if a topic like this comes up and I start listening for it. The "HEMI HAT" is a resonator, and it does so by chambering the sound waves off of each other to cancel themselves out. ANY chamber restricts air flow, whether it be in the intake or the exhaust!!!

Wasn't really disputing you, FAV40, but I kinda just saw in Volant's own ad where I thought they were contradicting themselves...

Ok I have another question about this, Does it void your warrenty? If so does it not void the warrenty if you get a system that leaves the Hemi Hat intact?

That would depend on the dealer and how often you use their services imo.

I put in a K&N conical filter on a metal tube. No real gain in mileage but it did give a bit more HP.

Alright I had an idea let me know if this makes sense or not cause I'm thinking of making my own CAI. This product has been around for a while but I havent ever heard if it works or not http://www.jcwhitney.com/tornado-per...p2005683.jcwx# what if you incorporated this into your homade CAI. Do you guys think there would be any advantage to doing this?

Your link just takes me to JCWhitney's home page, but if you're talking about the tornado insert, I've heard they're a waste of money. Never had one though. If it's not that expensive I say give it a try and let us know how it works.

I've often wondered if they work. They used to be around $50.
