yes its the tornado insert and $64 seems kind of expensive for a thin piece of metal but I dont know maybe it works I've never heard anything about it.
This came up maybe a year or two ago, and an independent test report was posted, it showed that MPG went down by 1 and HP down by something like 6 with the Tornado installed... GIMMICK!!!

Thanks Hammer, I always thought it looked like a GIMMICK but the thing has been around for a long time so I wasnt sure. When you see a picture of the thing you just wonder how the thing could possibly work.
Make your own CAI. Cheap and can be done in your driveway with the help of a K&N filter and some 3" pvc tubing. Works well. The metal stuff collects heat from the motor. Here's a few pics.
yes, i like your setup, and i'm considering doing it. but how is PVC any better then metal since you said metal just conducts heat from the motor? PVC would do the same thing wouldn't it?
metal will transfer heat more than plastic, thats why they use it to make heatsinks for computer chips, usually aluminum. Ive heard the metal tubes are louder too, not sure from my experience though.
