Default Trans temp light

This all started about the middle of the summer last year, and finally went away. Well now that its getting hot out again the freaking trans temp lights been coming on, even if sitting still for awhile.. its weird, it comes on for about 5 seconds, then shuts off. Just now on my way home it came on, stayed on for about 2 minutes, i shut the truck off, turned it back on and it was gone. Last summer when it started i had the tranny flushed, and that didnt help.. any seggestions?

probably not your transmissions fault, what gears are you running with those bigger tires?

Do you have a transmission temperature gauge? If so what temps are you getting when the light comes on?

without a tranny temp gauge or a nice programmer/datalogger (trinity, Innovate OT1, Aeroforce Interceptor to name a few)... in other words a way to get the exact trans temp, its hard to tell if its the light or not.

You certainly arent helping the temps by running 36" tires with 3.55 gears (not 3.53). Dont even think about towing like that (as your sig pic shows) or you're gonna cook that tranny in no time.

Way too much tire for the gear, you need a temp gauge, trans cooler and 4:56 - 4:88, IMO

it says you have a flashpaq in your sig. If you go down and look at the data logging section, there is an option to monitor parameters such as tranny temp. Plug in your flashpaq, browse to the trans temp section, and drive around for awhile and monitor what your temps are.
