okay i was set on getting the CB extreme SI/DO for my 2007 4.7 v8. then i heard it pops and ****, and the vortex is better. then i read that they sound good, but after a 3 hour drive ill want to kill myself. then i heard magnaflow is perfect. relatively quiet at cruising, and on the highway not too bad, but when you punch it it screams. thats exactly what i want. im going to college in fall 2011, and im going to OU, dont hate, and its about 3 hours from dallas. so i dont want to regret having exhaust thats annoying after 3 hours. so...CB extreme, vortex, or magnaflow? if magnaflow which one? and on the 4.7 v8 is the stock pipe 3" like the hemi or 2.5"?

and whoever's on here that just got two stainless steel pipes cut at 45 angle and had them welded on. who was that, i saw it a few days ago but cant find it now.

sorry to beat this topic some more, i know everyones tired of it. but ive looked this stuff up for a solid 5 days whenever i can, and i was all set until when i stumbled on some stuff that causes me to ask all these damn questions. yah im one of those people who asks a million questions haha sorry.

i got slash cut tips that come out my rear at 45*on my truck, ill be droppin my rustmaster for a cb extreme here next month i believe...

 

yah i know i can get 45 tips, but someone just got some 3" stainless steel pipe cut at 45 and welded on to the rest of the exhaust piping. sounds cheaper to me than buying $100 worth of tips, with the same look

 

shop around thats a lil pricey i got mine hella cheaper than that i got my 40series and all piping and tips welded installed for 150 out the door...now i wanna get a real muffler....like i said soon....

Slash Cut tips at 45 would look killer! and for muffler how about an 18" magnaflow? Ive heard those give a good rumble without 2 much cab drone.

I just cut off my pipes and have a Fm Super 44 just underneath.... Its deafening at 2000 rpm.

 

I have a 2008 4.7 with a SI/SO Magnaflow 3" in and out dumped. The muffler is 14" long and is oval. It sounds rock solid. I had a Thrush two chamber before and it sucked in comparison.

 

^^^^^ thats exactly what i have but mine is coming out the back right corner of my truck bed with a 4" diesel looking tip and i couldnt be happier with what it sounds like. screams when you spank in but nice and mellow at cruising speed
