i would have to agree on that and yes it is real big and beefy for a scsb but i notice you like beefy so i would just go with a smaller cheaper one and use the rest on performance...jmo

But there is a difference, would u take ur truck offraod? out in the mud? threw brush to get to places u wanna go, i highly doubt it... thats all i go threw i hunt year around and if i make a mistake and hit a tree or a rock or something (knock on wood), i can always fix the guard but without one i would pay $$$$ to fix the truck, and with that money i would use to fix the truck i could use for performance....

right but what about extra weight in the front that thing has to weigh a good chunk...i think a smaller more practical one , one that protects everything still .... but its up to you it is your truck and your wallet were just giving humble opinions....

^^^ yea, this might be a newb question, but wats so bad about some extra weight in the front, i figured if anything it would be better for traction offroad... but im sure since u say that its probably puttin alot of stress on something?

well everything really all your front end components are made for the weight of your truck and engine with a lil extra...but i dont really know how much it weighs and if it really does matter ...i mean i went to put a 350 in a camaro once that had a 6er in it and was gonna have to replace all the front end components...this may not be of that caliber but its just something to think about....

It wont weigh the front down that much, but it will a little. Certainly not enough to put extra wear and tear on the front end components. As for extra weight being extra traction, its only good to an extent. Your engine already weighs more than enough to provide all the traction you're gonna get. Just air down the tires for a wider footprint if you want more traction.

My opinion on the grille gaurd. Soley based on function, if you can honestly say you'd benefit from it more than a bull bar, then absolutely its your best choice. You bring a very valid point about front end damage going through brush. However, if you dont think you'll fully use the functionality of the full grille gaurd, go with the bull bar. It will hands down look better on your "small" (in comparison) ram

Not many people have more weight up front than I do, and I have ZERO issues. IMO if you hunt and fish, you can't beat a full grill guard... Get the thing...
