Dual Exhaust for Dummies?
Yes there is a way, put a leveling kit on the truck, they do not void the warrenty. Wat a leveling kit does it raises the front end of the truck to sit level with the back, allowing u to fit larger tires.... thats what i did on mine, But mine is a 4x4 so i dont know about the 2wds to be exactly sure, im sure a 2wd dude will chime in on this.... below is a picture of my truck stock, with 285/70/17, the next picture is my truck with a 2.5" leveling kit which abled me to run 305/70/17 tires....
EDIT: But if u do go with larger tires u will probably have to get new rims with the right backspacing which i think is 4.5" depending on the size tire you want to run, if u go this route and u pick out wat u want we could all point u in the right direction and help coast ya threw spotless

The only thing about that system is that is for the '06-'08 trucks. The OP's husbands truck is an 05. I didn't see a jegs kit for an '05 on there. It may fit but I know a few things changed on the trucks between '05 and '06. Then she's gonna have to have someone relocate the spare tire from what I've read on there. Not to say it's a bad system, I've not had experience with it like you have. Just throwing out thoughts.
The best bet would probably be a local shop with a single inlet dual outlet Flowmaster and some nice tips.
What size rims does your husbands truck have? The ones hoss has are 17" and the one in this picture has the 20" rims. Also for any of the trucks a 33" tire will fit with no lift whatsoever. The only reason for a spacer is the width of the tire.
cowboyJ- yea i have 17's but i also had to get spacers. if u go with a 33 they arent many out there that dont require u to get a spacers with stock rims do to the width of the tire, and if you got funds i would just get a set of new rims which will completely change the look of ur truck IMO
IMHO if u go this route, i would recommend gettin 17" or 18" rims for the truck, no bigger... and for tires, depending on ur style either 33s or 35s.. u will not be disappointed

I've got 33's on my 17" rim. My tires are just not as wide as yours. I've got 295/70/17's and they're about a half inch thinner than yours. Pretty critical number for factory rims. I didn't need spacers for mine. So, you can find 'em you just gotta look. If she's got the 20" rims though 33" tires came with it from the factory.
I agree if you get new rims definitely go 17 or 18". IMHO the ride actually suffers a little with the larger rims. The tires act in a small part like another shock absorber.
I think her husband has a 2wd so to put 35's on there she'll need a lift which she doesn't want to do.

Kaycee, please pass along my sincerest thanks to your husband for his service, it is greatly appreciated. There are tons of tire and wheel options out there, depending on the look you/your husband are seeking.
To give you an idea of costs for wheels and tires would be hard because there are so many to choose from. However, it is fairly safe to say that you can plan on a minimum of $1200 for a set of wheels and tires, and it goes up from there. I have about $2000 in my new ones including the leveling kit and labor to install them, including an alignment.
Good luck to you and your husband. And again, my sincerest thanks to him.

Oh man! I have no idea what they are? Can I measure them or something? lol how would I find out? Whatever he has on there now is what came on them when I bought the truck.
So okay - I can either do a lift to even it out if that will work with a 2WD, or I can get larger tires and in doing so many have to get larger rims to fit as well as possibly a spacer - depending on the size and the tires, etc? Am I getting this right?
I think overall, the reason he wants different tires is just to make the truck higher. I just didn't know if tires alone could do that or if the truck would have to be lifted in order to make it sit higher?
You guys are so helpful thank you so, so much!!!
