Transmission Whine?
Hey guys, I noticed recently my truck makes a whining noise when I accelerate. The harder I accelerate, the louder the noise. Anyone else notice this? Is it normal or should I get it checked out?
It's the 545RFE. Truck has 70k miles on it.

Several guys have rear ends that whine because of the gears. It does not mean they NEED to be replaced. It could be low on oil or the clearances on the gears could be off. But you need to make sure thats what it is first. Some gears are quiet at some MPH while others are whining throughout the whole MPH range.
I had the same issue, once i got to 20 a dull whine would start and increase with speed. I decided to inspect and found out it was one of my carrier bearings, when they go bad the preload tension is altered and your gears will have a change in the wear pattern as well.
I have the same problem and i figured out what it is..
If you have made any changes in the height of your truck like a suspension or body lift, the U-joints get put into a bind. I just got done replacing both of my U-joints (that was fun -.-). If this turns out to be your problem and you still have factory u joint MAKE SURE you get U-Joints with grease fittings because the higher your truck goes in the air, the more stress that gets put on those joints and the more stress on those joints, the faster the grease gets pushed out of the bearings and causes a whine/grinding/chirping sound.

Alright guys so I'm guessing then it is something with the rear diff. I'll get it checked out. The vehicle hasn't been lifted or leveled. It's not something I'm really worried about. If something breaks, it gets fixed by my warranty..
yeah, i wouldnt think it was something with the tranny. they arent known for making any funny noises, even with problems. as mentioned already, the things that come to mind are u-joints, and diffs. maybe even your belts.
