Noise on stereo when motor is running
Hello, this may be a stupid question but i try anyway :-)..
I have added a amplifier to my car and been using it to play from my iphone..
Currently my setup has been:
Radio is disconnected from front speakers (Only sound on rear).
Amplifier is connected to front speakers.
This has been working fine, but now i am going on a longer trip and thought i could connect my car stereo to the amplifier so i can enjoy new front speakers and sub together with sound from the rear.
So my first thought was to just take the + and - cable to the front and add a cable back to the amplifier and from amplifier to the speakers.
If i do this everything works as expected when ignition is on, but when i start the car i get a little "bang" and some noise that raises with the cars RPM.
Added a drawing that shows my setup, but its not very good.
Is there something i have overlooked or how can i remove the noise?
Thanks for any answer and again, sorry for my bad English.
Best Regards

My guess is that there are wires touching, even if they are insulated and not really "wire on wire". Make sure the amp power wire (from the battery to the amp) is not touching any speaker wires. Give wires separate paths to max degree poss. The stronger the amp, the more of a problem this is.
i have this same problem if im using an ipod interferance device like the ones you plug into the cigerette liter using the radio stations to play your music. Than i installed an aux jack comming from my navigation unit and i didnt have these problems anymore

Thanks so much for all the answers.
I did some testing while i awaited reply and come to this conclusion:
I cut a normal 3,5mm jack cable.
Inside that cable its 2 cables, one red another white.
It is also some tiny wires i though was shielding, but when i grounded that to ether the car or stereo (not amplifier) it all disappeared.
All i hear now is a little noise like the one from FM broadcasts, but i can live with that until i add my carputer :-)..
Thanks again, and go dodgeforum!
