So I got pulled over and I'm foreced to take off all of the tint... Before I had a 5 percent strip with 35 on my whole windsheild and 15 on my side windows... Now that I'm going to court on tuesday with it all taken off I am going back to the tint shop right after court but my question is i'm doing 15 on my side windows but I was thinking if I didn't do the tint strip it would be less sticking out to the cops and just did my whole windsheild 20 percent without the tint strip.. Thoughts..

 

Always make your back glass darker than the fronts. It creates an illusion to the person that's questioning its legality. The other thing is that depending on the state you live in, you can obtain a permit for perscription window tinting for many reasons including your skin and your eyes.

Look into it.

That's who I went to. Because of the county I live in, I am only required to carry the perscription in my truck. Now, if I were to go up north about 20 miles, I would then have to get the script and then apply for a permit. Either way, it's still very doable.

I have it just in case, but I have never had the tint even mentioned when I've been pulled over. Course, I don't **** off the cop, I roll my windows down, and if at night, the dome lights come on.


Wait, you want to do your whole windshield in 20%???! That is just insane.

I have ridden in a few cars that had a 50% on the front glass and it was too much.

No wonder you got busted.

Hmmm, I will have to keep that in mind if I ever decide to go darker than my 20%.

 

20% and you're askin for trouble buddy. Dont even think about it. 50% MAX on the windshield if you want left alone

 

I couldn't imagine what that is like at night with 20% on the windshield. Can we get a pic of what it looks like from the inside at night after you put the 20% on the windshield?

 

50 max on windsheild man your askin for it if you do anymore and as long as your strip doesnt go below the as-1 line you can have that as dark as solid its still legal think about the people that have ish written in vinyl up there ...legal is above the as-1 line....and check local laws before tinting front windows and keep it close to legal and not have any issues...or your just throwing money away....
