3.7 Spark Plug questions
I had an 04 Dakota with a 3.7, now a 05 Ram with a 3.7, I have found that these engines eat sparkplugs up, What do you guys use, 4.7 guys we use the same plugs so feel free to comment
I used ngk iridiums when I replaced mine, hoping I won't have to replace them as often as the copper ones. I plan on pulling a couple to check the gap and condition when I get closer to 30k miles on them.
my truck sits at about 2000 rpm for the cammute to and from work, the dakota i used bosch double platinums and they went 70,000 before trading the truck in. I had a host of problems with the Dakota when I first bought it, A misfire code was one of the last issues with it, changed them and didnt have any other problems. But after I wont use NGK again. I'll try the Champions because thats a name I know
^^^ x2
Just changed the plugs on my 2006 Dakota 3.7 V6 today. 33,500 miles on engine. The dealor said it came stock with Copper Champions. Mine had NGK-R. Definitely needed to be changed. Looks like my Dakota chews up plugs as well. I replaced them Champion Double Platnium. My Truck runs better than ever. A little more pickup off the line. I am very Happy! Don't think the NGK-R was a good choice for this truck!
I wonder why its going through sparkplugs like that? I haven't had any problems with mine. I want to see some pics of your truck when you get the chance
