Default just picked up my truck and......

Sso i just brought home my new to me 2007 ram 1500 sbrc 4x4 hemi with 70,000kms on it.. everything was good then this morning i started it up went for a drive and "gascap" came up on the dash,

Figured i did not tighten the cap enough so i went out and gave it a few more "clicks" so i continue driving hoping it would go out then the engine light came on and i figured the "gascap" on the dash would throw a evap code and set the engine light on. so that wasn't shocking.. went to my shop hooked the scanner up and it had a evap code small leak detected (generally a gas cap) so i tested the cap on the etest machine it passed.. the other code was evap module malfunction. so i cleared all codes all lights went off.
now every time you start the truck "gascap" comes up on the dash but no engine light. You hit the trip button it goes away and it wont come back on until you start the truck the next time.. any ideas?

I guess its going back to the dealer tomorrow.. all i want to do is drive the truck i love it

thanks
connor.

check the hoses that go from the filler neck to the charcoal evap canister, and also the hoses that run toward the front. if any of them are cracked at all, replace them.

I think some guys have said the evap canister under the truck also can get cracked and give the same code.

thanks "tsnyder" i like your dual side exit exhaust.. is that a custom set up? or is it a kit, are you running mufflers? if so what kind? i would like to run a set up like that in the future.
thanks

inspect the fuel tank as well the 06 we have had a pinhole leak in the filler neck that caused the code.
