Default Help me choose a spindle lift kit

What spindles are you using for your 2WD 04 ram and what can you tell me about them? I'm looking at purchasing a set with a 4"lift.

You can use several types. I had 3" Rough Country spindles on mine at one point. You can go to www.airbagit.com and find some there also as well as Ebay.

Also for a decent price for a full kit, look at the 6" lift on Roughcountry.com.

What problem? Your rims and tires you have now will work.

unless you have factory 17's. then, in that case, you must have 4.5" of backspacing for the rims to clear the new spindles.

Exactly, and if I'm not mistaken not even the factory 20's have that much backspacing. If you're gonna run the factory rim you just need to get a set of spacers.

the 20" wheels will clear them. the lift spindle is longer than stock, and rides inside the rim. so the diameter of a 17" is not enough. but the diameter of the 20" rim is big enough to allow the spindle to fit inside. with aftermarket wheels with the correct back spacing, it pushes the rim out so that the spindle does not sit inside the rim.

tire size plays no part in any of this.
