i havent on my ram, but i did on another truck. from learning the experiences of MANY members on here, its not hard to do in your driveway. the only part that gives a little bit of trouble can be the steering extension. if you unbolt the steering column from the dash (2 large hex bolts), it should slide freely allowing enough space to slide in the extension peice.

Piece of cake. Unbolt the steering extension BEFORE you lift the body and it will pop right out.

Honestly theres only a little additional time needed for 3" vs 1". Unless you're really opposed to it, its my opinion to get the most lift for the work.

Although it's been 12 years since I've installed one, I've done three on my own trucks and two on other peoples through the years. Every one with the use of a jack and jack stands.
Some have taken me a full day, some a full weekend, but nothing too difficult to do...

I had to buy the blocks and the bolts seperate, they dont sell a 1 inch kit so you have to make your own basically. It was real easy though, but its like AF said, if you dont care then go for the 3, there isnt much more work for 3 over 1. I just dont like big noticeable body lifts...
