Default very light surging

Hi guys, I searched but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Lot of threads with engine rpm surging or almost stalling but that's not the issue I'm having.

Basically, when I lightly accelerate I feel a very light surging. The rpm doesn't surge or anything and it has never stalled or even felt like it was going to stall. When I accelerate hard it is fine.

At idle in gear it runs at about 550 rpm.

It's a 2005 QC hemi and has done this since I bought it 2 months ago. I also recently changed the plugs and cleaned the throttle body. Every other thread that came close to my symptoms was the result of a faulty egr valve.

I doubt that it has ever been changed and it has 80,000 km's on it.

What say you experts? EGR valve or something else?

I should mention that it is not throwing up any codes right now.

possible vacuum leak (check hoses), if its the egr give a while and it should eventually throw a code. It wouldn't hurt to change out the EGR also since its gonna die eventually.

i was just gonna post up a new thread when i saw this one. my truck, tho a 4.7, is displaying many of the same symptoms your describing so im gonna bump this thread and see if we can get any other answers. As mentioned before i feel a light surging usually when cruising at a constant speed, typically between 30-60 MPH, and have no idea what the prob is. There doesnt appear to be RPM change (i dont see the needle jumping around while its surging) and im not throwing a code. All fluids are good, TB is clean, sparks are new and gapped correctly...im a lil lost. The surge feels almost like riding over a wavy road, just a slight jostle but its noticeable. Im hoping it is something to do with EGR or something simple. Sorry for being long winded but i obviously want this resolved.
Thanks in advance!

Anybody priced out an EGR valve in Canada? Where is the best place to get one?

I kind of noticed that today as well, it seemed to get better as the truck warmed up. But I couldn't tell if it was just my imagination or not.
