comp finally emailed me back. heres what he said....
Nick I do not have the specs on the sidewinder camshaft so I could not say
for sure, however I would say that it is unlikely that we can regrind your
stock cam to those specs. I can say for sure that we can not change the LSA
of the stock camshaft at all.

I could have told you they would say that.... You're trying to reinvent the wheel here. Just send it to Stu and get it ground already.

My 2 cents, I have been researching this for a while too, and AF has been helpful as far as the 03 set-up goes. The crazy spartan is my next choice of Cam, and have read from some (other forums search) that it will run on a canned SC even with a 114 Lsa & is a bit more powerful than the others you mentioned. A good mid-ranger.

Ok that makes sense, I love to wind her out on the hwy so 2500-3000 rpm come on is what i want. It sounds like the Mr. Stu fellow has fixed up alot of people for the right Cam especially one that can be used with SC, I'm sure you'll hook up with the right one.

(P.S. the Crazy Jay sounds nice too- 209/214 545/556 @.050 113 LSA similar to Sidewinder but can it be tamed with SC ?).

"low end" = 2500-4500
"mid range" = 3500 - 6000
"high end" = 4000 - 7000

obviously these are ballparked and i made the numbers up based on average power range of cams that fit those categories. Most people think low range as 1000 rpms. Its not. The KRC 210 is the epitome of torque grind and its power is from 2500-5000. I only point this out because most people initially think they want mid-range, but its actually the low end cams that fit those rpms

Yep 4200 is when my "supposably it sucks mid-range Cam" starts to turn it on so if I can change that down to 2500 that will be good for me on the hwy as I'm cruising normally at around 2000 (85mph) passing the sheriff as he reads his paper.
