oh the nerve. dude... we've been talking this whole time about why he shouldnt spend $250 on an intake and then you come in here and post this crap. K&N is better than AFE, so what makes you think that anyone would buy your stuff if the k/n is too expensive as it is?

Since your IP Address comes up right outside Corona, CA and Afe's headquarters is in Corona, CA, and since your user name is what it is, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and speculate that you are affiliated with Afe.

i didnt learn anything about making my own intake untill about 2 months ago....if i knew i would not have paid what i did for my k&n and would have made my own for a fraction of the price. it seems a few people are knocking the k&n which i think is crazy. k&n filters are great product wise, they do kick a$$, the only issue is the price cus it's way over the top. you could try autoanything.com they have promo codes you can put in to get a chunk of that cost down if you are dead set on a k&n. if you really dont care then search the forum and find out how to build ur own....

we arent knocking the k/n at all. its a wonderful product. what we're knocking is the whole k/n kit. the suggestions are to buy just the k/n filter and then make the tubing yourself. that way you still have a k/n CAI, just at a fraction of the cost

I use K&N drop in and Oil filter but am still on the fence about forking out that kind of dough on a shiny set-up so will spend it on a ported throttle body. Homemade tubing seems to satisfy alot of folks on here. I do like my stock air hat and am willing to toy with the exellent idea (believe it was Frogs) of tubing out from the hat with 4" as mentioned on another post however would need to pursue the reverse engineering aspect of that when time permits.
