Default Question about torsion key install

Ok I am about to order my aftermarket torsion keys but was thinking about installing them myself. I just wanted to know if you really used the tool that your supposed to use and if not how you took them out. And if I get 2 inch blocks for the rear, whats the longest I should run without getting longer shocks?

Hey 03, I can't help with your 4wd question, but we have a 03 "Forgotten" Club that addresses a lot of the 03 specific issues. You'll find the link in my signature. Good luck...

It's a LOT easier with the tool, but can be done with the large C-Clamps. If you are going to use the C-Clamp, use a high quality one and don't attempt to use the cheap cast ones out of China...

lift the truck up off the ground, detach the shocks from the front, then loosen the torsion bolts all the way, then have a buddy lift the front axle allowing the torsion bar to turn a little but and they will slide out of the factory keys. thats how i did mine. a lift makes it easier if ou have access to one. took me about an hour and a half
