glass3222 - Your cheapest option would be to do the headers in your garage, order a pacesetter Y (got mine for $150) and get some high flow cats (about $90 a piece ask teach he has them). Then bolt it all together....

I will say this though, my Y pipe leaked like a SOB so it may be a wise idea to go back after its all installed when you get the time and weld it all together nice and neatly. Your exhaust, truck, ears, nose ect will be thanking you in the long run.

Thanks. That is what I am thinking. I am going to check with a few other shops and see what is the cheapest way to go.

I just got a custom cat back dual system installed along with a magnaflow 30" SI/DO muffler for $340. I worked with them through the install and it is exactly the way I wanted it.

Picture of partial install.

To get the pipe to exit the way you want will take some custom bending,

Good luck..

Well I have talked to a few other shops today and got some reasonable prices. However, all of the shops that I talked to discouraged these LTs. They only recommend stainless for daily drivers because of the salt and stuff on the roads here in PA during the winter. They all said regular LTs will only last 2 years before the rot, ceramic coated or painted, doesn't matter. And stainless LTs are not in my budget right now. I hate making decisions

stainless are great, paint burns off (no matter how high the heat rating) but I've NEVER seen a good ceramic coat come off so I have no clue where they are getting off telling you that. I'll have to go snap a pic of mine later.

5 years old, half that time staying less than 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, EVERYTHING made of steel rusts in the yard in less than a summer due to the salt air and my headers ain't much different than the day I put them on. Although I did have mine custom coated...

I believe you hammer, I was just saying what I was told by 4 shops today, all are more than willing to do whatever I want, they all just cautioned me saying that they normally see headers last 2 years at most unless stainless. They know I am not buy headers from them, so they are not looking for more money or anything like that.

If you don't do it yourself, try as many shops as you can to get the best prices, theres bound to be 1 near you thats reasonable

I got one that will charge me $200 to open the cats to 3", and fab/weld everything from the headers to my flowmaster, including making a new Y pipe. They just said that the headers will probably rust out in 2 years and I will be doing it again, unless I get stainless.

I wouldn't listen to them, go with the ceramic coated headers, it'll keep things cool under the hood and they shouldn't rust. just make sure that there are no chips or anything in the header coating that can lead to rusing and you should be fine. We dont deal with salty roads here (one of the few plus sides to living in AZ) so I cant tell you how they fir in salty conditions but the ceramic coating should work fine. If you do buy the painted ones, the paint wont last much more than a few months if that. my buddies lasted a trip around the block. I would give JetHot a callthe last time they quoted me $150 to ceramic coat the headers inside and out but that was before I found a set that was already ceramic coated. Also ask them how well their coating holds up in salty conditions. I would believe them over the guys doing the install
