I just got a 2003 Ram 1500 and am looking to lift it off the ground a little bit. 5 inches would make me happy
No I ended up going with a leveling kit. I am already really wishing that I would of went with the 5 inch lift. But now I have already spent the money on the level, shocks and install Don`t make the same mistake that I did. GO for the lift!! I guess I am going to go with a body lift at some point to get me closer to the 5 inch mark. Sure is not going to be as nice as the 5 inch lift would of been though.

So it would be worth it for me to wait a couple months or so until I have the money for the lift instead of just leveling it?? That is kinda what I had though.

Is it very hard to install a lift kit yourself?

The answer to your first question is YES! That`s what I was going to do to start with and then I decided that I would be just as happy with a level. WRONG! I am going to get a body lift though so I will still end up getting close to 5 inches of lift between the body lift and the level. The only way I would say to go with the level is if you plan to also get a body lift. This is a much cheaper set up but if you can save and get a real lift I would do that.

I am not sure about installing a lift. Maybe someone else can answer that one for you.

Good luck!

I guess I have never really thought of doing a body kit. They seem difficult. I think I would just be better off with buying the lift kit and some big tires

Yeah if money is not a hudge deal I would do just that!! I would buy some wheels and go with 33x12.50 or 35x12.50 tires.
