Default Longer shocks for leveling

I know I said I was going to drop the back end 2'' but I just can't bare the thought of taking out my o/l springs and losing some of the trucks function. I don't haul or tow very often but just the fact that I do at all makes me not want to lose any of that strength.

I'm flipping my chioce of leveling option and am going with the front end level. For the longer shocks that I'm going to need can I just upgrade from the '04 1500 length to the '04 2500 length?

Thanks,
Nico

Should be able to. That's what I did for my '05.

I put a 2 1/2" level kit on mine. Still OEM shocks. Longer shocks aren't necessary with just a level.

I know a lot of people say that you don't need longer shocks. In my case the truck was riding EXTREMELY rough until I put the longer shocks on. You may be able to get away without needing longer shocks. But I couldn't stand the ride without them.

dont the 2500 and 1500 shocks mount different? I know the length would work, but i thought they mounted different.

The 2005 2WD models of both mount the same. Not sure about 4x4's or other years though.

thats correct, 2wd 2500 and 2wd 1500s mount the same. its different for 4x4s. and to the op. you can still drop it and not lose functionality. just get a set of airbags. roughly $200. and you can still tow and haul all you want. even without the O/L springs
