The springs are bad enough, but the titanium retainers he's insisting I use are stupid high priced!

If I can get away with 6.1 parts, I'm looking at less than 25% of the cost for the "go withs"...
I used just regular old 6.1 springs and rods. They are pretty cheap and that is all that is recommended for the sidewinder anyway. No need for that manley high priced stuff.

I really don't know how you took pics as you went along when you did your write up. My hands were so dirty I don't think I could have held a camera without it slipping out of my hands.

The plan is to try to get some new times pretty soon to see how the new times compare to the pre-cam times.

This is why I won't do anything without wearing my blue gloves..lol Nitrile disposable's are the best. They take a beating and won't tear and they are like $14 for a box of 100 at NAPA. Some brands are junk, but these are awesome. I did an entire engine swap using just 2 pair!
Advance Auto started carrying the brand as well. i'll have to check out the name for future references...

Ain't never found a glove I could wear when doing any kinda work like that, besides I was a catcher for almost 17 years, my hands and fingers are a gnarly mess anyway... LOL

I don't think any kind of glove would work for this job. The thin gloves that you can feel stuff through would be torn up. The top of the sleeve that the plugs go in are razor sharp. I sliced my one knuckle down to the bone on one of them, literally. And the thick gloves don't give you the feel to work with small pieces like the keepers.

By the time I did that tutorial I was on the 4th engine tear down and could do it in my sleep. I did take the pics but I had my wife with me writing notes as I was calling things out to her.
