A/C not blowing hard
#21
Thanks to this forum, I had this problem yesterday (labor day weekend) on my 2003 Ram 1500, my first day on vacation in another town. Took the truck to Sears on Sunday they told me the dash has to be removed and they do not do that. Read this forum and Monday morning went to Lowes, purchased a nut driver set for $ 15 dollars, removed the blower motor, stuck my hand where the blower was and sure enough, it was blocked. I had to brake the recirc door in half to get it out. It took me less the 15 minutes and now AC is blowing again. I can not change between outside and inside air, at this point I do not care because I have air again.

My 06 had this problem in 08, I got it fixed under warranty. I left in the Military over seas and left my truck with my Dad. While I was gone, it happened again, this time out of warranty. He ripped the door out and I have had no problems with it since coming back. This happened in 2010. I don't care if it won't recirc, the AC blows cold.

Yes Just Done A check My 05 Dodge Ram By Taking Glove box Out And You Can See The Doorway Through Glove Box Hole Of Course Door Was Open Reached In A Felt At Bottom Sure Enough The Door Was Laying On Air Intake From Fan Blower At This Point You Can Put Glove Box Back In If Your Not Replacing Door At This Time You Don't Need Glove Box Off Just To Remove Old Door The Fan Takes A 5/16 Inch Nut Driver Remove The # Screws And Fan Just Falls Down Then Reach In And Get Door In The Right postion It Will Come Right out You May Have To Play With It A Second To Get It In Right Spot But It Will Come Out From Start Of Glove Box Removal To Completely Finished It Took Me All of 7min to do I will just use mine with out door for now at least now I can get heat and defrost now Thanks To Dodge Forum I Got The Info To Find Out Where To Start Looking

I bought a replacement door at NAPA, but when I dug into the dash I saw that I had an amp sitting right in the way of the door motor. I decided to drop the blower and was able fish the door out without breaking it. After putting the blower back I got a good flow again. The only change is that I notice that I get a little air flow with the fan off.
