Unhappy A/C not blowing hard

I have a 2004 4.7 L Ram truck with 200000+ miles. The trouble I'm having is when I turn on the A/C, the air sounds like its blowing very hard. But its not. when you turn it down it blow even less. On high it sounds like it would blow you away, but ther is no air blowing anywhere else. When you change to air to the floor, same thing, not blowing hard. Please help!

Had the same problem with my 06'' about a year ago. Turns out the blower motor went out. Good luck.

if it SOUNDS like its blowing hard the blower motor is fine i would think...

maybe the vents came disconnected from the blower motor? but seriously... 4.7 with 200,000+ miles is amazing. props to the owner(s) for great upkeep

That my freind sounds like the Re-Circ door is broken. Very common. Try This link. Pretty good info. Personaly I did not replace the broken door, I just removed it. Downside is I can't change between outside air and inside air (re-circulation), I don't really care as long as its cold in the summer and warm in the winter!

I have the same problem with mine intermittantly. I also have the recirc door problem . I have not dug into it yet but you can find lots of good info and links in these threads.

I've had more HVAC problems on my truck and the wifes Durango than I have had with the total of all the cars I've owned. Very cheap and poor design and I hope they get the quality going in the future.

just a tip for those attempting the recirc door removal; use a nut driver on the 3 screws holding the blower in. DO NOT use a star screwdriver bit, it will be a PITA!

I have a 2008 Ram QC. The very first thing I noticed about this truck was how much the blower motor screams like there's a tornado coming out of the vents, YET the air that comes out of the vents is only subtle. The vents are very large and is why the air isn't as "hard blowing" as you would expect. Think of a pressure washer tip...Now think of the opposite..That's what our vents are like.
It's NORMAL.
here's what you can do to make it feel like it sounds. Turn off the pass. side vents and that will allow the driverside to blow much harder. This will actually freeze your eyeballs because the air actually makes it all the way to your face...lol

There are no problems, so i doubt I would waster time looking for one.
Having the air blow harder doesn't mean the interior will get cooler faster. My Explorer will knock a hat off your head, but it's not as cold as my Ram is. I'd rather have a colder freeze than harder blow...hmmmm or would I...lol

i prefer a hard blow and some cool flow.

my air was pretty cold. it just was barely leaking out of the vents. i read some threads, went outside, and fooled around with it, and bam! blowin me away again.

Definitely not normal. And yes it is a problem. I was pulling the camper home 2 weekends ago. Half way home there was suddendly no air at all coming from any of the vents. No matter what mode I selected or how warm /cold I tried to make it. The fan was audibly working at all speeds. 82 degrees outside and humid and we were starting to sweat in the cab. Windows went down the rest of the way home.

This problem comes and goes as does my other problem of no cold air coming from any of the 3 passenger side vents.

Not looking forward to fixing this because I hate working under the dash.
