Default HELP!!, I keep blowing fuse number 51

I need some help please I keep blowing fuse number 51. What could cause this one to keep blowing. The only thing I did to the pickup this weekend was change plugs (wich everything was working good after that) and I mounted my cutout switch. If I disconnect the bat and put in a new fuse as soon as I reconnect the bat the fuse pops. It does it before I turn on the ignition. Things that don't work with this fuse is, radio, key fob, and door lights. Any help would be great, I don't mind working on the motor but the wires scare me.

Obviously either a component failed or a wire has shorted out. See if this helps. Start by unplugging things that already do not work such as the radio and see if it goes away. If not then it is in your wiring.

Also see if this schematic helps you out any.

Nice post up weedahoe.

You said you mounted your cut-out switch. Did you dod any wiring for it and if so what?

I have had it wired for the last 4 months just had the switch flopping around so I drilled a hole in below the cup holder area and mounted it. I'm going to run to town and get some more fuses and start by disconnecting everything I added on - Amp, cutout, Air pump.

With just a quick look at the drawing I would take a very close look at the cutout switch you installed. Disconnect it and backtrack your steps. Good luck..

I don't think the cut-out has anything to do with it unless he tapped into fuse 51's power wire and possibly crossed wires or maybe they melted or contacted each other when he mounted the switch otherwise the additional current draw the past 4mo. would have already caused the fuse to pop. Pull the switch out and see if there are any issue's.

Actually Weed, did you forget to attach the 8w-10-14 the previous schematic because I see nothing about the radio/horn/cigar type stuff.

unplugging stuff may help isolate the issue, but you really need to start poking around with a miltimeter to find the problem.

the cutout switch you wired is probably shorting the wires on the backside of it. apply some tape inbetween the terminals and see what happens.

Thanks everyone for your inputs I just found the problem. I disconnected all my add ons and it was still blowing. looked under the above the pedals and found that my OBDII plug has come apart and one of the prongs was touching the metal!.

So i'm off to a junk yard to get a new plug so I can hook up my Aeroforce when it gets here in a couple hours.

Unless someone can tell me which prongs go into wich hole on that plastic clip "thing" that seperates the prongs!

Actually, I didnt forget. When i looked over that one the first time I didnt see fuse 51 on it. But since you mentioned it I went back and looked more carefully and DID see it so i edited my post and added it.

THX for catching that.
