Default I have 20" hubcaps............WTF

So I washing my new 06 thunder road yesterday for the first time since purchased and come to realize the wheels have chrome plastic hub caps. do the wheels look the same underneath but just silver? guess i'll take one off this weekend and find out.

anybody have before and after pics?

i think they are chrome clad.. correct me if im wrong but they are expensive??

They did the same thing with the older 5 spoke rims. First they were chrome, then they went to polished aluminum, lastly they had I think steel with the chrome plastic covers. They all basically looked the same so no one really knew they changed them. I wouldn't mess with them but thats just my opinion

theres lots of threads on this i cant remember the link.. you cant take them off.. theres alot of glue and it looks like crap.

thanks for the input, so they are glued onto the wheel? i can feel a difference when you reach in behind the spokes where it feels like two different things, if i flick it with my finger its def plastic sounding, but the wheels are aluminum. I'll see if i can get some close up pics this afternoon.

Dont do it.. the under side of the flower pedals rims are very imperfect... you will NOT like it.

WOW, aint that about a bit*ch. Just got off the phone with my local dealer parts guy and he says yes that is part of the wheel and not available seperately. I better keep these babies polished and waxed up. Have a great 4th guys!
