screw in tow hooks
Does anybody know if there is a screw in type of tow hook for a 05 ram, that way i can interchange loops and hooks etc, been looking online but i only see them on cars
and are these really for a 1500?

Edit: Could i fab up a plate and weld a nut to it, like a 1 inch, would the threads hold? then just get some i bolts that thread in to it?
i'm also thinking of getting a front hitch instead may be eaiser

I had measured my mounting location a few months back for someone who wanted to mount those hooks on their 1500. It was too close to say yea or ney...that's a good price but expect shipping to be atleast that much or more (out of Canada?) To install I removed the plastic bumper insert and just bolted them on. did not need mounting brackets., bolts directly to frame. Good luck.

a guy here was selling a set for $50 on craigslist....they dont look like that though...they do have the loop instead of a hook but they are welded to a flat bumper bracket, not two bolt up deals
I think someone on here or DT at some point tried a set of 2500 hooks on a 1500 and it didnt work

Anything can be made to work if you wanna fab it up...
Personally if I was gonna pay over $150 for a set of factory hooks, I'd spend the same money or maybe a couple bucks more and just go with a receiver hitch. Much more versatile than just just hooks. Then you'll have the option of sliding on anything that either comes on a 2" receiver or you can bolt to one...
