Default Is it worth changing my gears?

Alright, I've been wanting to change the diff gears on my ram for awhile now. I have a 06 quad cab 4.7L 2wd and running stock 3.55 gears. I'm almost positive i don't have a LSD. I guess my first question would be is it even worth doing on my truck? I don't do any towing. I will most likely run them just for the gain in acceleration. I am running 275/55 tires on the stock 20's. If it is worth the swap, what ratio should i go with? 3.90, 4.10, or 4.56? I've looked at moe's but i really dont know what i would need. I've never did this but i do plan on tackling the job myself. So is there anything else i need to consider. Any help would be great. thanks

yup, itd be a great idea. 4.56s for 33" or bigger tires, 4.10s for smaller. it will help with acceleration, towing, and despite what most think, it WILL help your MPGs

that would do the trick. make sure you get a set for the front if you have 4x4. and might want to invest in getting an aftermarket LSD. i mean they are gonna be in there already, itd save you on labor cost to do it at the same time.

I have a 2wd so i would just need the rear. I've looked into the 4.10 gears + Auburn LSD kit but its a little pricey for me at the moment. I think it was $765. I may just wait and save to get the whole deal at one time.

I personally would wait and save for the LSD as well.
If you put 4:56's into that baby with a peg leg......your gonna' roast one or the other tyres!
It will be bad enough with an LSD in place, never mind just a peg leg ha ha ha.

I've done them before but last night i found out i no longer have my tools. I suspect someone either stole them or someone borrowed them and never returned them. I knew something was going to get in the way.

And your break-even point will be in ten years/100,000 miles.

Now that's what I call an investment.
