would these look too small
When I bought the FCIIs at my buddy's suggestion, I got them because they are a hybrid between an A/T & an M/T. If you look at them, the center tread looks like an A/T but the sides have very aggressive blocks with large side biters.
The reasoning was that I travel 350+ miles each way on the interstate between central Florida and my farm propery in south Georgia. I needed a tire that wouldn't get chewed up on the trip, but have the ***** to get back in the low country for hog huntin' and fishin'.
The "trick" is to run 'em high, about 90% of the max on the road to keep the center tread in full contact but have the big blocks not be slappin' the pavement hard. Then I air 'em down a little bit when I get there so the big blocks do their job.
As a result, like I've stated, I have about 30k on them and there is barely any wear on them.
I'd recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. But for a little more aggressive tire, I'd love to see what the Mud Country can do.
Can't really fault the STTs either, Cooper now owns Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek and I'm sure they took a lot of their off-road technology and incorporated it. Good reviews on them as well. As are the ones I see on the Nitto's...

Y seen nitto and toyo in person and not the the others
I feel your pain, I just went through it on my Grand Cherokee when I lifted it. I REALLY wanted Mickey ATZs but in that size, even from my buddy, they were almost $200 a tire and money is tight right now. He could get me into Nitto Terra Grapps for $127 a tire. That's a difference of over $280!
So I went with the Terra Grapps, and they have proven to be just fine. Grip like velcro on wet pavement and do really well up around the farm, fishin' and campin'. Just wouldn't take 'em into the low country where you can get sucked down to your crotch in that famous Georgia red clay mud.
Whether you find the Trail Grapps or go with the Cepeks or STTs you are getting a solid tire. Can't find fault with any of the three...

As far as running, they are LOUD if you don't kep them rotated, and their bite is GREAT
I'd like to jump to a 9 or 10" rim, but I really don't NEED them and these work better than I expected. If I did, I could jump to the 35's in an "E" rated tire---they wear a lot better--not that these are bad by any means.
The size I have now, is option tire size used on the Power Wagon
I just put 285/65/R18 bridgstone dualer A/T Revo 2's on my truck with 18 in wheels. I had the stock 20's and tires on it prior. To be honest you can hardly tell they are any smaller. I was quite skeptical about it when i bought them as well as i was really wanting a 34" tire this time round. Had a similar issue on back order and then decided i really wanted the revo 2's which didn't come in a true 33 or a 34 at all. I have a picture of the new rim/tire next to the old rim/tire...but i have yet to get a picture to upload to this dang forum. pm me with your email address and i will send it to you.
I would have liked to jump to 35's when I bought these, but tire rack refused to install them do to manuf's recommendations.
