Default torsion bar

How do you know if there is a torsion bar installed?? I have a 2003 1500 Quad, would going with the stock 4wd shocks work with a 2" leveling kit?? Thanks

If you have an '02-'05 4x4 you have torsion bars. If you have a 4x2 you have coils. The 4x4 shocks for your year truck would not work, different top mounts. But there are shocks that would, many places will cross reference them for you, as stated 4 Wheel Parts can...

Thanks for the replies. Will the 2500 shocks work on a 1500 with coils and a leveling kit??

Default shocks

The 2500 front shocks are 2.3" longer exteneded with a 1 inch longer stroke. My question is would the mouting location and bolt holes match up??? Any info appreciated. Thanks

I just tried replacing the front shocks it seems easy but mine are pretty rusty. the stem you hold at the top while you back off the nut that holds the top of the shock on broke off now how the hell do I get the shocks off?

Hey Hammer, Do you have any experience with the Pro Comp MX-6. I know they are adjustable but other than that are there any huge variations over the ES 9000? I kow the price difference is like $65 more each shock.

I know a lot of guys have them and love them, especially in the Jeep "Off-Road Build" circles. I know they are also a Tenneco shock, so I'm guessing they are pretty much a clone of the adjustable Ranchos that I have, since Tenneco owns/makes Rancho shocks.

As far as I know, both the Bilstein and the Rancho QuickLifts are for 4x4 applications only, but you could always either call or email them...
