Be cautious in high heat though because in mine the solder inside the fan motor came loose from too much heat....Damn thing is a pain to pull all apart to solder one wire!

see i thought it was ideal to use the 3.8l taurus fan be cause the low side pushes more air than say the 3.0l .... i was told only to use a 3.8l fan or else this would have been done a while ago those are always available....

jusjay727 not sure, but i know mine is the 3.0L and today was a hot one in stop and go traffic i never made it past the half mark on the temp gauge.

I want to hook your fan up on the high side to see how it would sound. If it sounds menacing it might compliment the truck You'd just need to get a bigger relay and inline fuse.

Thats what I did with mine. I bought a 80/60A relay on ebay for $9 and a AGU fuse holder and a 5 pack of 60A AGU fuses for another couple bucks and started using the high side of the fan.

The relay contacts have to be filed down to fit my controller but it works.

I've towed my wife's Murano and trailer that weigh about 5K form Cali to AZ, up some pretty steep mountains, in upwards of 110 degrees, fan on low... never got above a little past 1/2 on the gauge.

update today was 98 degrees and still just below half in traffic on low speed.
