Default E-Fan installed with pics

Well this weekend a fellow member(blakeroberts88) helped me out with installing an electric fan. I purchased the taurus fan NIB off ebay for $55 and then controller ran another $30 bucks. The snag we ran into at first was the fan i purchased didn't come with a shroud so we had to pull out the engineering skills and we mounted it to the original shroud. I mad a few plunge cuts and we used metal strap to mount the electric fan. Once we had it mounted up we hit a bump because the connector we used apparently didn't peirce the plastic coating so when we were testing the fan wasn't coming on. After checking all wires and connections we were able to find the problem child and fix it up. I have it set to come on at 195 and shut off at 185. After doing a hwy test run i gained 1 mpg and overall really happy with the mod. Thanks for the help Roberts.

I'm glad it all worked out. I was worried a few times that it wouldn't work and we'd have to put the clutch fan back in.

Glad to see y'all didn't give up. Don't EVER let a mod beat you! There is always a way to fabricate sh*t to work.

Good job!!!

Looks good is that a 2speed fan? I like how a few of us have done this lately and used looms to make it all look good keep up the good work

Yes it is a two speed fan. We hooked it up on low because well, the controller couldn't handle high and it's a bit overkill. Low worked fine. For his truck I think we used a 1996 - 2007 Taurus 3.0L two speed fan.

Thanks for the comments. The looms do really clean up the look and after a day of driving it helped mpg for sure. It's kind of nice to see this beast getting over 15 mpg now. The fan we used was from a 96-07 taurus 3.0L.

You think low speed would work in stop and go traffic in 102 degree and 100% humidity?

I've sat in traffic in 90+ heat and the truck never went over 200*. I have mine set to turn on at 198* and turn off at 188*.
