Looking at 07 Ram. Anything I should look for?
Hi. I found an 07 4x4 Ram online at a Dodge dealer. It has 82K miles on it. It's a V8 (doesn't say which one) with a 6 speed transmission. I want to go look at it this week but I'm not familiar with Dodges. What are your suggestions for what I should look for in this truck. By the way, the asking price is $12495. Thanks.

you not giving a lot information, so Im going to assume the following.
1. 1500 Ram with the 4.7, 6sp man transmisson.
2. 2500 Ram 5.7 6sp man transmisson.
3. CTD with a automatic 6speed ????
Thier is a post on the common 3rd gen ram issues, I can't recall who posted it, but it easy to find, lots of true information, use the serach option, miles are high for the year, maitanace, maitance maitance history is critical, miles along are not the issue, but a paper trail of support and up keep is vital to knowing what you are buying.

I'm sorry, I didn't specify. It's a 1500. It appears to be a 1 owner. Haven't spoken with the dealer yet. Gonna try to go look at it today. Will try to get the name of the previous owner since they have quite a history with this vehicle, 82000 miles in a little over 3 1/2 years. There is a Carfax on it. Nothing major happened with it. The maintenance report on the Carfax is spotty in that it only shows 4 services but I know that I change my own oil and stuff so that wouldn't show up for that. Anyway, here's the link: Autotrader
Thanks for the info. I've read about some problems with engines cutting off for no apparent reason, other electrical gremlins, problems with struts and the 4WD not working right. With 82K in that short amount of time I kinda have doubts that there were any big problems with this one but will check it out.

That would be a good price for a 4.7 QC 4x4, even thought the mileage is a bit high for an '07. Would be a great price for a Hemi.
The shutting off issue is more of an '03-05 thing with the Hemi and usually is fixed with a simple PCM update. Not many electrical problems and I've not heard of any 4x4 or transfer case issues, not common ones anyway.
Now the front ends, yep. Cheazy, non-greaseable components and at 80k miles I'd plan on ball & U joints, tie rod ends, etc.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the replies. I called yesterday morning and inquired about it. It sounded pretty good. I couldn't go look at it until after I got off work. He called back a little later and said that they sold it after I called. Figures, just my luck. Oh well, thanks again.
