Were the valve covers and rocker arm assemblies on this engine when you got them? did you check and make sure each push rods was in its correct place and opening and closing each valve per cam rotation?

I'll check that out, I appreciate the help. It just seems odd that the new engine would run the exact same way as the old engine did before it crapped out?? I'm now second guessing myself wondering if it could be another valve spring I didn't see. I thoroughly inspected this piece before putting it in, pretty sure I would have noticed after dropping a valve into the old engine. Thanks

Was the throttle body out of the 04 or was it out of your 03? If you still have the one for your 03' you may want to try to stick it on there instead of the 04.

Really though after listening to the video it almost sounds like the timing is off. Where did you pull this engine from?

the throttle body is the same one from the 03.. I bought the engine as just the rotating assembly and switched accessories over.

I've never had the intake off at idle before now to notice, should the throttle butterfly be completely closed at idle? It looks like it is now? Just wondering?
