Default CAI Pics, my design...

Ok, here is one of the designs I made for my truck, and I want ot say it DOES work, noticably in the accelleration and power....
I have a Purolator filter on this one for now, but it will be a K&N soon... I have been testing this and others and have two new ones coming up.... this one will go to the drags thursday, will let you know....

Its simple but extremely efficient.........let me know what you think...GUIDO

Looks pretty nice. Are you going to test it against the stock intake at the track?

CAI? Cold Air Induction? I thought that would be pulling "cold" air from outside the hood? ... or did I miss something?

Either way, that piece looks nice. Since we are on the topic ..... does someone make an actual kit that will pull the air from outside?

Locked up, for what its worth, I have found that CAI intakes are all filtered, so you lose a lot of velosity with the air... my intake has a tube that feeds the cold air to the filter from below the bumper, and all it is is a flexable dryer tube with a 6" opening...it takes the air and feeds it diectly to the filter in the pic....
but I have another design that I am working on that will accellerate the air to the intake.....

Todd, its being run thursday nite..with this one only...will dyno all of them soon..

Acid... my old one is trashed... sorry buddy... but I do have a shark, LOL............

"I wanna go this fast" wooooosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please do tell what the results are. I'm probably going to go with =AIR=RAM=>'s design. He has a combo with a grill scoop that looks like it should be about as functional as a hood scoop, only with a little more distance to travel than a direct scoop.

Guido, Im new here but I am very interested in adding a CAI to my 04 Hemi. What size tubing did you use for the CAI. I have been thinking of having a local muffler shop bend me some aluminum 3" but I wasnt sure what size K&N I should use to keep the CFM right. I have heard of performance gains from the K&N drop in filter but I would like to get some fresh air to it, maybe pipe up some fresh air vents from the fog light openings.

I was thinking of putting on a 50 series flowmaster I have but I have read about losses because of the less restrictive muffler, any ideas? The flowmaster is a dual in/dual out setup. I was thinking of placing a "Y" in front of the muffler and then run the 'dual' angled out the back.

Phatboy, what I have is a Flow 40 side out, cat back to a Y and out the side with dual stainless tips..... also I would go with 4" pipe, that is what I used, and it works well, mine is made of thin wall PVC pipe, the aluminum idea is good tho.... cold air from the fogs is good, I wish I had it to do......I do have a pipe from under the bumper with a 6" opening and 4"flex to the filter......pulls a lot of air in, but am designing something for the track to push LOTS of air in....
Let me know what you do...GUIDO
