10' of schedule 40 PVC is a little under $8 here, I've made three of them out of a length before...
Not here 5' cost me $10 but you never had any problems with the pvc glue or the silicone coming off i just worried about sucking that stuff in the in take and i think i will build a nother one the glue dried to fast so i could not point the filter down i cant seem to find if anybody has had problems with the home made cai have you ever heard of anybody sucking glue or pvc glue i used red hot

nah, the grommets I get at Ace Hardware have a slot all the way around the center of them so they stay pretty much on their own, so I only just hit a dab of glue on the outside. As far as the actual PVC, the glue resides pretty much between the two pieces of PVC so even if it flaked off, it'd have nowhere to go.

I've known about guys making these things out of poop pipe ever since throttle bodies replaced carbs and I've not heard of anybody having glue issues yet...

yep, like I said, the grommet I get fits tight enough I'd bet it wouldn't come out, I just use a little ring of cement right around the outside just to be sure.

you can break the connection of the pvc if you twist the elbow and pipe oppisate directions then you can re glue the elbow, it does take ALOT of force and it may brake

The "flutter" you are hearing in all likelihood is your EGR valve opening and closing, the "Hemi Hat" acts as a baffle to muffle the sound. Normal...

My chrome tube echoes it big time, it's just my Cherry Bomb muffler drowns it out...
