Are there any drawbacks to cranking the keys and going offroad? Besides rough ride and less articulation? What can be done to help soften those drawbacks?

I have mine cranked to the max but I think its because I did it back in 2008 when the truck was 5 years old with some sag. Mine sits perfectly level, about 1/4" lower in the front and I've been off roading and everything was fine. By off roading, I mean going through 3 ft desert whoops at 10 miles an hour which is gnarly, I don't recommend it. My ride is a little stiffer but It makes the truck feel more sturdy. I would think it gives you more articulation since your raising it but you definitely need longer shocks so you don't top out. IMO, crank them and see how you like it. If you don't like it, put them back. But ignore the clunk when the shocks top out. Just concentrate on the ride.

Would it be possible to just crank the bars when going offroad? Count the turns and put it back to stock when you hit the road?

Don't you need to get a front end alignment done after cranking up the keys? Will it effect the wheel camber, as in too much positive camber?

I just did it on my newly acquired '05 4x4...I didnt jack it up, and I didnt need new shocks...it took all of 5 minutes, and Im level now. Probably raised the front about 1 3/4".

I found a good deal on some 33 inch tires. My only concern is if I will be able to crank the torsion bar high enough so that there is no rubbing.

I will be just fine cranking the torsion bar and the 33 inch tires correct? I want no rubbing whatsoever.

Sooner or later I will be putting a 3" Body lift on the truck. Hopefully sooner
