Default Sagging leaf springs

I have a 2006 1500 QC 4x4 and after a 5000 mile trip loaded down, it looks like my rear end is sagging. I am just wondering what my options are to bring the rear back up. I am also thinking about putting a 2" lift on (just for bigger tires), but that just means I will be sagging two inches taller. Should I just replace the leafs or do you know of a better way to bring it back up? Thanks

RJ

We were pulling a trailer and had the back loaded. Total was 4000lbs extra. The trailer had a wheeler and a motorcyle on it. The problem was we drove through upper Canada (no offense) and the roads suck. Lots of humps and bounces. I think that is what caused it. I looked at the springs and you can see they are bowed over the axel. Here are some pics.

There's been some discussion as to whether the springs are normally slightly bowed over the axle like that or not. Mine are. My friend's are. Several folks have them like that. But maybe not everybody.

How does it sit? How are the headlights aimed? If they higher than they used to be, then the back is sagging.

How much of that load was on the truck (tongue weight + stuff in the bed)?

I had a thread on this a few weeks ago.

Here's mine:

Note: I have since replaced the sorry-looking worn out tires.

Here are before and after pics. I couldnt figure out how to add the pics in the post, so I had to delete the spring pics to add these.

To the OP, you could go to a brake and spring shop and have the leafs re-arched, I'm sure for a fraction of the cost of new---unless - of course - you end up doing a lift
