Body Shop spraye painted over crome bumper!
My truck was in the shop for a week because it was hit by a tree so the tailgate, inside of bed and panels needed work. There was nothing wrong with my bumper but I am assuming it needed to be removed to fix everything else. So, its been two days and I was cleaning my truck and I looked at the bumper and something looked strange. The reflection on the left side of the bumper looked dull and I could not see a reflection at all like a shiny chrome bumper does...so I got closer and saw the line were it appears they spray painted over it with chrome spray paint! What should I do? !!!
demand a new chrome bumper and if you don't get one threatening with the better business bureau also threathin to tell the insurance company that there are getting riped off by this body shop
yep if that new bumper was in an insurance quote that meant the shop just took the money and didnt spend it on the bumper , take it back call your insurance company also and see what was all quoted to get fixed , if it says new bumper then you deserve a new bumper!!! thats why we have insurance
Are you sure they sprayed it with chrome paint?
Overspray is very common in body shops. If they don't mask whatever off, it WILL get overspray which causes a dull sheen appearance and is rough to the touch. I'm gonna guess you have overspray....? Which by the way isn't an easy feat for removal. Sanding is the only way!

IDK Dirty, we have removed over spray with clar bars but I guess it depends on how bad the over spray is. Either way, I wouldnt do, the body shop would be

Actually the biggest threat that scares the bodyshop the most is tell them your reporting them to the DMV.Each shop is registered with the DMV.If you wait on the BBB it will take forever to get responses ect.The DMV will have an inspector out there within a week,And they do not take complaints lightly.
I had to do it to a tranny shop, they told me They did a complete rebuild and they just bought a used one from a junk yard. After the investigation They have been doing it for years to people. The Business was shut down by the DMV 3 weeks after the complaint.Better Business Bureu dont have that kind of power lol.
