04 1500, foldable center console, looking to remove to make my sub box design easier. Has 2 torx head bolts on each side but is also connected to the middle seat by the little black retractable thing. Haven't messed with it too much because I always seem to break stuff when I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks in advance

 

There are four nuts on the bottom that have to be removed. Once you have those off and the wiring disconnected, you can take it out as one piece.

 

Thanks man, figured that out after I wasted time taking the top piece off.

 

Little off topic but does anyone know where to get the split seat center console? Can I replace bench seat style with full center console?

 

You can find them on here sometimes fro sale is someone is making radical changes or parting out a truck. You can also find them on ebay and yes you can swap a 40/20/40 seat out for a solid bench seat
