Needing to goto street tires, What looks good?

I have the stock 265\70\17's on my 07' 2500.Looks like Im driving around on 4 doughnuts with so much room in the wells.I'd like to go to the 285's,just wish I could see what a set looked like on my truck to see if they make a differance, and knew they wouldnt rub before I spend the money.

I can guarentee 285's won't rub. I had 315's on at stock height for a couple days and there wasn't much rubbing with those.
Also comparing 285's with the stock 20's, They are basically the same size, Just more rubber.

One tire, eh? Didn't have an open diff did it? 
The price jumps by almost $50 a tire to $207 a tire compared to other brands and smaller size, But based on overall re-views, I think ill probably end up getting the Nitto Dura Grapplers at 285/70/17. That pretty close to the same size as the stock 275/60/20's I had on the truck for a month. When I had those tires on there I was pulling some pretty good gas mileage both city and highway and had good acceleration. Hopefully I might gain and even surpass what I lost by going to my 315/75/17's and lifting the truck.
Hammer, Under normal circumstances I wouldn't either. However alot is about to change, Truck is about to become a city truck and my daily/Family driver. About to sell off my extremely gas siping car. And I don't see a point in having an A/t tire if the only dirt Ill probably see in the near future is from my peeling out on neighborhood lawns of neighbors who tick me off
Ugh, Im gonna have neighbors again. 
So it was either do everything I can to touch up the gas mileage, Or trade it in for a, Eck... Family car...
