Do a quick search of almost any of my post on HID threads and you find where it is completely covered and explained on why you need the resistors and what kind to you.

I'm going to call the company tomorrow before I start hacking. There is a place I talked to that actually sells a kit just for dodges that have resistors already wired in . I wish I would of went with them I wouldn't have as many headaches.

 

send me your un wanted HID's I will wire in the dollar resistors....they will work for me and you get rid of the junk....LOL

 

Does the 4wd light come on and go off when you touch your headlights? Is the truck actually going into 4wd or just the light is illuminating?
Few things. The TIPM is the power central that sends power to the Cluster. If there is a backfeed of electricity flowing, you could end up with funny issue's like your having. That would likely mean a bad ballast OR bad TIPM OR faulty cluster. If the problem doesn't happen when you install stock bulbs, then I would assume you have a bad ballast.

 

Yes, It actually tries to go in 4 low. I can hear it click on and off. The way I get it to stop it put it in 4 hi drive for a min then take it out of 4 hi. If I try to click on my high beams that's then the 4 low problem comes around and sometimes just turning them on. I was told also from a buddy that I may be getting backfeed. Also with this new kit i am getting some flickering. So, I think I may need to install some resistors. The kit I had before gave me the same problems w/o the flickering. I thought I was having all these problems because it was a cheaper kit. You don't have to cut and add resistors in. There are other ways like using scotch-loks or T-taps. If it were me i would solder them and heat shrink them. The next option (if it were me) would be to use 3M butt splices (the ones that are heat shrinkable). Next options would be those scotch-loks or T-taps.

Just installed HIDextra's in my heads and fogs with no problems what so ever. Good luck finding out what the problem is. WEED, your double posting!

 

Thanks for all the reply's. Ill be an expert on installing these kits. Ill probably order some resisters and see if that fixes the problem if not ill be very angry. I really don't know what else too do! oh and another Q do I need 2 of them because of my hi/lo BI setup ? from what I see it is installed like a bridge setup.
