Default Hidextra and 4x4

I recently installer this kit and for some reason it wants to click on and off 4 low. I don't understand why and tech support doesn't know why. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. What model year is your truck?

I wouldn't think the HID kit should have nothing to do with the 4x4 unless you cut/spliced a wire you shouldn't have.

Have you unplugged the entire HID kit and see if the 4x4 issue went away? Perhaps its just coincidence, and the 4x4 thing started happening at the same time as the HID install.

I will move this over to 3rd gen for you, hopefully get you some more answers.

Yeah, changing headlight bulbs and adding ballast should have nothing to do with changing trans unless your installer cut into wires he should not have but I doubt that. These kits are pretty PnP.

JasonW brings up a very good point and that would be the first thing I would try.

When was the last time you use a different trans setting?

So with no HIDs at all and back to halogen bulbs, do you still get the issue?

Maybe you should tell us exactly how many and what wires come with your kit and what and how you are connecting them because obviously something isn't right.

No the lights work fine with stock bulbs. I have been calling around seems like I have to install resistors to fix the issue it will trick it if it comes down too it I will just get a low beam instead of the bi kit

Do a quick search of almost any of my post on HID threads and you find where it is completely covered and explained on why you need the resistors and what kind to you.

I would post a link but im on my mobile and not at my desk
