Hi Guys
I have just picked up my first ever dodge ram, its a 1500 5.7 V8 hemi SLT quad cab, I LOVE IT.
I have a couple of issues,
1) The central locking does not work
2) the remote keyless entry fob that came with the truck is new and i dont have a working fob how can i programme the new fob?

I have searched the forum and found how to do it with an existing fob but the manual says you cant do it without please help, will post some pics tomorrow

what year? some you can do by jumping some pins on the obd scan plug, otherwise you have to take it to a dealer. my truck (2004) didnt come with a key fob so i bought one and had to take it in. charged me $48.95

have you checked the fuse for the door locks?

 

Yep ive checked the fuse for the central locking all ok, mine is also a 2004

 

well you'll have to take it to the dealer to program the remote, unless you know someone that has the obd2 programmer

do the doors unlock when you open the driver door? do they lock when you exceed 15mph? tried the switch on the pax side i'm assuming

 

I was going to suggest the dealer also unless you want to do a remote start or alarm with RKE.

Only option you have is to replace it unless you want to do a remote start or alarm with RKE.

 

I believe central locking can be turned on/off. The instructions will be in the O/M.
