IDK much about EGT probes but I do know this so please be aware of it if not already.

Maybe you can call a company like Zeitronix who offers EGT probes and see if they can help

"WARNING!
The EGT probe is subject to an extremely violent high temperature / high pressure environment. Over time it could be possible for an EGT probe to degrade and potentially send fragments into the exhaust system and turbo charger. The tip of the EGT probe is designed to slowly burn away and EGT probes normally quit working before degrading to a dangerous point. We have never seen our EGT probe fall apart, never the less we recommend you periodically inspect the EGT probe for signs of damage."

Warmed up and idling should be around 800*F. Shoot it with an infrared gun and see if it corresponds to the gauge reading.

The gauge is brand new, and I do not have a infrared gun, but I boiled some water
(212*) and the gauge went right up to 200* and not past it. I will have to get/borrow an infrared gun to check it for sure. Thanks for the input. I hope I can get this thing dialed in. I many exchange it for the 2400* one so even if the gauge is not accurate I will know what is safe if I see what it is stock before the superchaarger goes on. Thanks again.

Water meth and your still hitting 1500?? ...sure, gas pistons will melt around 1600 but in a cummins for example the only thing to worry of at that temp is your turbo and manifold of course...
