One foot section 4 inch pvc A 90 degree elbow, a 45 degree elbow. A connection coupler. and some joint compound. Dry fit the pieces first. that compound doesn't move once fastened! Drill a hole for the o2 sensor I used a 3/4 spade bit. The bends in the tube puts the filter right behind the r/s headlmp assembly. 1/2 hour 3/4's with paint. There is a picture of mine on my profile. Your gonna need a secondary smaller filter for the oil tube. just twist that up and place in the tube. clamp it and done.

I was thinking of the pvc,but was wondering how it held up witht the heat in the engine compartment in hot weather.

Also what kind and size filter for the oil tube?
What did you use to hold the O2 sensor in place?
The intake filter is found in most auto stores are the same size to clamp on the end?
I would have bought 3" by mistake, thank for mentioning ill need 4"

Sorry for so many questions, but I think its better to ask here than the 8th grader in our local auto stores. Want to only have to make one trip.
Thanks

I have one of those "cheap" Ebay Intakes and I love it. I paid $100 shipped, but thats also with 2 K&N cone filters. Its also a little longer as it extends down towards the headlight. Sounds very deep, has a nice rubber grommet to push in the o2 sensor. The only thing and I think it was mentioned here, is that you will have to come up with a different mount for it. All they give you (at least mine) is a small piece of aluminium that you had to bend. I just replaced that with a nice stainless steel bracket I had laying around.

Ive never seen these DIY CAIs but im sure they do just the same job, a little more time, and less chrome. Ive seen buddies of mine go and spend 400-500 CAD for an airaid or something like that, that does replace the hemi hat, but still sits where the stock airbox was, not gaining as much as mine which was 1\4 price. Ya mines not a big name and does not have fancy stickers, but what are you willing to sacrifice for cheap airflow?

I just got the same one off of eBay except I upgraded and got the K&N filter for it. It was $72 and looks and works great! They all work the same way, just upgrade and get a good filter. Cheap.............Go for it!

Yup I upgraded to a K&N and asked for an extra, that 100 was including shipping to calgary alberta.

nx75080: Go and buy a K&N cone filter, don't go cheap on that...I have heard of lots of people that buy cheap filters and they are replacing them in a couple months...best thing about K&N is the filter is cleanable with the write solutions....
