Default Would like an opinion on CAI

New to performance upgrades, always just did the exterior visual stuff, but now that I have a truck worth doing, I was thinking of getting one of these cheap CAI's from ebay.

Ive seen some on here make them from pvc, this would be a notch above that right?
Think it would be worth it or do you really get more from the K&N or the expensive ones.

Cash is tight, but dont want to buy something if its not going to make any differance in performance.

Thanx in advance!

yea, an ebay one is fine...they all do the same thing, i wouldnt get that one, i would recommend that you get one that eliminates the "hemi hat" b/c thats where the most restriction is at

this is more along the lines of something that you need:

this one removes the "hemi hat"...where all of the restriction is at. So id find something more along those lines

If cash is tight, are you sure you want to be trying to manage upgrades? I know it is fun to do but just make sure everything else is taken care of and you have enough cushion for a rainy day, or week or more.

Very true, i'm sure $50 isn't much, i opted for a Spectre CAI. Installed it (cage does not fit properly) leveled it out (easy upgrade) i chose to turn the stock keys, (thats what they're there for) and took it in for an alignment, $60. shop comes back and says lower ball joints are both shot, outer tie rod end is trashed and if the camber is off it NEEDS a camber kit. they quoted me over $1000 for the job. AAahhh FU! i wasn't too thrilled... but i just bought it two weeks ago, so i'm having the stealership do the work and we're gonna split the bill. what a headache for new truck.

The only reason cash is tight is cause the PIA G\F planned a cruise in a few months.Guess she needs alot of money to blow on the island on stupid crap that will end up in next years garage sale lol. At least once the mods are done they will always be there for me

I know what you mean. Were saving for another vacation coming up in Oct. Hell, we have only been on about 5 so far this year. Its nice to sit at home sometime and relax and not do anything or go anywhere.
