Maybe I have the wrong wording in the search feature...dunno. Anyway, I looked at the door sticker today and noticed it had 17's for the tire size. Should I maybe have it recalibrated (if it hasn't been already) to reflect the fact that it has the 20" setup on it?

I also have the OTIS...I would LOVE to add an EVIC for the TPMS. Is this possible? If so, what would I have to do?

Does the center bezel just pop out? I know when I had my Intrepid(s) the bezel that surrounds the radio and A/C controls just popped out so I could gain access to the back of all of that. Need to know so I can try to figure out the stereo setup thats in there as well as troubleshoot the horn. Could not find anything in the service manual.

What size bulb(s) is behind the gauge cluster? I looked through the service manual and just about everything I could think of to find the bulb size. I want to run LED bulbs back there.

Uh...lets see...oh yeah, the light switch...I noticed tonight when I was headed home from wally world when I turned the cargo light switch to the "on" position...it didn't come on. It took a few times to get them to illuminate. Is it maybe a problem with the contact in the switch?

Would it be wise to change from regular dino oil to synthetic? The truck only has 59800 miles ('03 model)...I think I would be better off with Mobil 1 IMO.

Given the fact I have an '03...what is a good "sister car" for parts? Meaning, if I need a blower motor, would it have to be from an '03 Ram or could I use parts from say a durango, dakota etc...if so, what years?

Sorry if I have asked too many questions...but I want to ensure my truck is top notch and I want to know as much as I can about my vehicle.

I know how to use the search feature...I have D/L'ed the service manual, but these are just a few things I have not been able to find. If its too much, slap me and call me stupid. (well, not literally) LOL

for the TPM sensors they wont work on an 03 model year truck.

your center bezel you need to open your ash tray and take out the one screw to the right of your HVAC controls and pop it out with a trim stick or something that wont damage anything when you pry on it.

your bulbs for your cluster are all different. and all i can access is mopar part numbers, not bulb numbers

as for the cargo lamp... could be a loose connection or a bulb starting to go bad. (take your switch out and check connection)

you can switch to synthetic if thats what you would like to do. its all up to you. if you dont mind spending the money on synthetic, then go for it.

the only sister car for an 03 ram will be an 03 ram.

Also if your truck says it came from the factory with 17's and now you have 20's.I would check the speedometer to see how accurate it actually is.I had the same problem and found out that when i was doing 70 i was actually doing 78(a friendly dps officer pulled me over to let me know).I went to dodge and had the comp recalibratted for the 20's for like $90,Then got a superchips and found out it changes it also.

 

My sticker on the drivers door says my truck came with 17s but it didnt. My truck came with 20s stock so just keep that in mind

 

Your door sticker may not accurately reflect what it came with. My '03 has 17" on the door sticker, but the build sheet I got from Dodge shows factory 20's (further supported by 3.92 rear gears).

 

on the 02-05 the dash comes off with one screw above the "bag hook" and them pull gently and it should pop off

oil is oil as long as you change it when your supposed to it really doesn't matter IMO

Bulbs i used were:
B8.5D , 11 qty for the cluster i believe the 06+ only have 5
Neo04-B, 2-3 qty in the over head, 3 if you have the extra buttons
NEO5, 2 blue 1 white Climate control (need to be trimmed a bit)

if you have remote entry you have to remove a box on the back to get to a screw to complete the install, the box pulls straight out, also have to shave the back of one led so the box will go back on

and i got them at super bright leds



02-05 are "sister trucks" except some engine components and computers

 

Sweet! Thanks for link as well as the bulb sizes. I figured out getting the dash apart...real easy. In fact I pretty much tore the whole thing apart, just short of removing the cluster. I love doing stuff like that. Tear it apart just to see how it works and then put it back together. Found alot of jerry rigged stuff in there with the XM radio FM modualtor someone installed. Cig. lighter didnt work...does now. Plus it gives me an idea fvor how much room I have behind the dash to "play" with. Thanks again guys!
