Default I want to remove my bedrails!

I went away for a NOLS course this summer, and my dad wanted to surprise me with some the stuff on my truck... i love my bumper, i love my toolbox, but i absolutely hate the bedrails!

so if i do get them removed will i be stuck with four holes in my truck? I don't mind a divot if i can get something welded over, but when i went to the place my pops got it, he said I'd be stuck with four holes in my truck, the guy was a complete *** though, as if i didn't appreciate his workmanship... but i mean, i don't see why i couldn't get some scrap metal on it, if the rails were welded on in the first place?

any thoughts? or hell, anything to put in place of the soon to be rail holes?
thanks in advance guys!

Mopar makes Hide-a-way hook/latches.
HERE
There's certainly no need to go welding. You'll ruin the surrounding paint doing that.
My holes are visible as I have nothing covering them up.

Wait i think he may talking about the drill type rails and not the stake pocket rails, I think ha.

About a year ago our shop had to fill in some holes from a previous set of drill type bed rails. The holes were about 3/8 round. We filled them with a fiberglass resin then after it cured we went over it with a thin coat of bondo and sanded it to smooth it over. After the paint was on you couldnt even tell there used to be holes in the bed. We see the guy every now and then and you still cant tell.

I think DirtyDogs idea is the best, the spring hooks would be helpful too

I think he means that they used screws to attach the rails and he wants to remove them but doesnt want the 4 screw holes left behind.

Yeah Ive got those spring loaded pop-up stakes. They are nice to have in case you ever need anything to tie down to. If you dont need them, you leave them down and dont really see them. I bought them on sale for about 20 bux or so.
