Well I have decided that my new tires are going to be snow tires. I am thinking 295/70/17 cooper snow tires. Anyone have them? What is the best snow tire do you all think?
Great White North Choice here is Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac M&S Probably the Best for 3rd Gen Ram IMO and come in Bigger 17" Sizes too, Best on Ice and they are "Snowflake Stamped" Severe Rating for Winter (up North here anyways). Real Real Quiet and have a smooth Ride, nice lookin thread and extra sidewall Ligs. I got mine on sale at 383 CAD so should be cheaper down South.
Couple of Pics, I have since mounted them Back on OEM Rim With White Letter out.
Don't think you can blame a tire for cupping (scallopping) unless it is a cheap tire or defective or your'e tie-rods are out. I always get an $85 alignement with new Tires to avoid problem. My 305 Pro-Comps ran at 50 PSI and my wranglers at 48 PSI for the 285/17.
Ain't never had a bit of luck with ANY Goodyear tire I've owned (or BFG for that matter). Although the Jeep guys have good things to say about the Duratrac.
Best A/T tire in the snow IMO is the Firestone Destination A/T.
